HARVONI is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with chronic (lasting a long time) hepatitis C (Hep C) genotype 1, 4, 5 or 6 infection with or without cirrhosis (compensated). In those with GT1 and advansed cirrhosis (decompensated) or with GT1 or 4 with or without cirrhosis (compensated) who have had a liver transplant, HARVONI is used with ribavirin.

Please pay attention to possible HARVONI heavy side effects:
First, before taking HARVONI, ask your physician to take blood tests to verify if you have Hepatit B, because taking HARVONI can reactivate Hepatit B virus in patients who had/have it before. Hepatit B can be activated during or even after HARVONI course treatment, which can lead to aggravation of liver status and possible lethal outcome. Being in the risk group, it’s strongly advisable to be monitored by your physician in the process of taking HARVONI and after the treatment had been completed.
